At the Zoo

Back when I was in grade 8 my mom took me to the zoo with my 9 month old sister. I went to the zoo for two reasons: To skip the afternoon of school and because it was my sisters first time going to the zoo.
I remember going to all the animal enclosures and taking pictures of the animals with my phone. This was my first phone that had a camera, and I wanted to make good use of it. Every time I go to the zoo I always enjoy seeing the lions, even though they usually aren't doing anything interesting. This time when I went I was surprised to see that both the lions were walking around.
It was actually kind of intimidating because one of the lions was pacing back and forth along the cage, growling as people walked by. The other lion was just looking out of the cage, it's nose was almost pressed right against the metal. As my mom and sister went ahead to the next enclosure, I stayed behind to get a really good picture of one of the lions. As I walked up to the cage the lion was still pacing back and forth and growing, as if trying to say, "This is my territory, stay back". As I approached, the lion looked so majestic and fearless, I was trying to make sure that he didn't jump to a different part of the enclosure. The lion didn't pay much attention to me, so I took the picture then ran to catch up with my mom and sister.
That day was probably one of the best experiences at the zoo I've had. I remember that the monkeys were pretty funny and more energetic than usual. one of the monkeys outside was swinging on a rope back and forth, like Tarzan, and running all up and down the trees. Another monkey that was inside was literaly bouncing off the walls and climing a little tower that was set up for them. Two other monkeys were running around like they were playing tag.
That day at the zoo reminded me of my days in elementary school. the lion reminded me of how angry I use to get. And the monkeys reminded me of how all of my friends and I use to behave at recess. We use to clime all over the play structure. And we always use to play tag, like the monkeys. We ran all over the field and through the play structure. The zoo is a great place to relive some great memories.
